Regarding
Lol Mike
Walter "In
1993 I formed a band called the Extreme Quartet
with Lol Coxhill (Soprano Saxophone), Mike Walter
(Tenor Saxophone), Hugh Metcalfe (Guitar) and
Jim LeBaigue (Drums). In the first instance it
was put together for the Factual Nonsense Party
Conference, an arts event in East London curated
by arts provocateur Joshua Compston and featuring
Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas, Leigh Bowery and a host
of other artists. The music was performed in a
tent, the 'Marquee de Slade.' Extreme Quartet
has subsequently toured England, been to Switzerland
and has regularly performed in and around London
for the past 12 years. Around 1999 Lol and I began
to perform as a duet and we continue to do so.
We
have toured Southern England, played the Bath
Festival and appeared regularly and live on the
Late Late Breakfast Show on Resonance FM radio.
We play music venues, bars, art galleries, art
festivals, weddings and even restaurants wherever
and whenever we can, always playing our unique
and personal take on improvised music."

"One
bright morning when this world is over and I get
asked "well who did you enjoy most in your
time out there?" pretty well near the apex
of my pyramid of very special persons and it was
a genuine pleasure to have known you people, will
be Lol Coxhill. Music made with him is pretty
well nearly always special but non musical moments
are equal gems. Mike
